
R.
A. Carlsen (Writer) Originally from California, where
he graduated from UC Berkeley, he has been living in New York City
and working for the New York Board of Education as a Special Education
Teacher, working with elementary age children in East Harlem. A few
years ago he started the Master of Theatre Arts program at Hunter
College, studying playwriting with Tina Howe. R.A.’s first play,
Patpong Street won the John Golden Prize,
and the next, The Word of God did also.
R.A. became a Fellow at the Dramatist Guild last year, and he has
been a member of the terraNOVA Collective for the past year, where
he developed his new play, Eschaton, in
Groundbreakers
Sessions. It has been accepted as his Master's Thesis at Hunter.
