terraNOVA selects twelve projects for the festival. Through open submissions,
we consider projects. We are interested in supporting a diverse and
daring group of artists who tell great stories by utilizing unique forms.
Applications can be submitted by playwrights, directors, choreographers,
composers, musicians, puppeteers, any visual artists (sculptors, painters,
photographers, etc.) or any solo performer. We will choose one visual
artist to have a solo show, which will last for the duration of the
festival. We prefer to have a committed director attached to all projects.
Solo performers for young audiences are welcome.
In
the case of projects that are not strictly text-based (dance/theatre
pieces, image-based work), an artistic statement detailing the style
and vision of the piece is essential.
Previous applicants may re-apply; however, previous festival participants
may not re-submit a show produced in prior years of the ONE Solo Arts
Festival. Artists may submit more than one application, but a separate
application fee is required.
Deadline for all submissions is January 16, 2006. Applicants will be
notified by March 15, 2005. The third annual terraNOVA ONE Solo Arts
Festival will be held over two weeks in June at a venue in New York
City.
